Welcome to our school in Kopeyia! It is hard to believe that in 1988 we had no access to education. Then, thanks to your generous support, we began building the Kopeyia School. We appreciate your help and we work hard to use our educational opportunity well. We are proud to share with you how far we’ve come in 16 years. Here are the current accomplishments of a few of our 800 students and 500 (and counting) graduates:
- Rose Agbeforti (’05), Afi Gloppa (’08) and Josephine Afatsawo (’06) earned national honors in academics and athletics!
- Our Girls Club earned national honors in the ‘Sara Initiative’ competition.
- Mama Traku (’96), the first Kopeyia grad to start her own business in the village, celebrated her hair salon’s 1st anniversary. Liza Agbeli (’03) is apprenticing there.
- Mawuko Wodewole (’97) is a junior at Univ. of Ghana at Cape Coast.
- Kofie Agbeli (’96) is graduating from Univ. of Northern Iowa on Dec. 17th, 2004!
We could not be doing this without your contributions. Please continue to nourish our growth and progress with another donation to the Kopeyia Ghana School Fund, as we strive toward self-sufficiency through education.
Thank you!
