Sponsoring a child

To Sponsor a Kopeyia Student to attend Senior Secondary School (High School):

One year tuition, room and board, and books
ONLY $400

The children's dream is to continue their education through college and then return to Kopeyia with the skills necessary to maintain the school and foster development in their community.

Ultimately, the children we are educating will become the leaders of Kopeyia's development efforts. We are proud to report the progress and success of many of our Senior Secondary School graduates, who will someday take charge (these young people were helping to construct their own school while they were also students there!):

  • Kofie Agbeli is now in his junior year of study at University of Northern Iowa on full academic scholarship. He is majoring in Business Management, working hard with a full load of courses, and doing well. He traveled home to Kopeyia again this summer to share his new experiences and knowledge with his community.
  • Mawuko Wodewole another of our Kopeyia grads, recently began his freshman year at University of Ghana at Cape Coast. He is our first U. of G. student.
  • More of our SSS grads are enrolled in professional schools in Ghana: Polytechnic School, Computer School, Teacher Training College, Catering/Tourism School.
  • Many Kopeyia JSS grads are also continuing their education in Vocational Schools or as apprentices to mechanics, hairdressers, and seamstresses.

We are currently sending 17 students to Senior Secondary School, which is private in Ghana. We still need sponsors to pay for some of the students. The cost per student is $400 each year for three years (including tuition, room, board, supplies and pocket money!)

We ask you to consider sponsoring a child's secondary or tertiary education. As a sponsor, you will receive progress reports and personal letters from your student. Our standards for scholarships are rigorous, so they will work very hard! Your gift - to cover full tuition for one year, or any amount, will help enormously.
